Printmaking

I have now finished teaching the   FISH AND FOWL printmaking evening class for this  term ( see my collograph example below) but am teaching many more printmaking courses in the Spring  and Summer. The Decorated Sketchbook

For the first time I am running a course which will reveal some of the secrets of how I put together sketchbooks. If you book before March 31st ( this Saturday) you get a discount. For more information click HERE

This sketchbook was made in response to research on ethnic and tribal textiles. Each double page spread uses surface decoration techniques to respond to patterns and textures in the textiles.

These samples combine a tufted stable boy quilt and an old eiderdown with applique.

Pique Assiette

Natalie Henderson,the talent behind Vintage Luxe, and a friend of mine is running some lovely workshops in Corbridge. I would go myself but am teaching my own evening class so can't!

The theme of the workshops is

"Repurpose found objects to create pique assiette mosaics"

‘pique assiette’ is the craft of re-purposing broken china, glass, jewellery, buttons - indeed any vintage ephemera - into mosaics

the finished piece often tells a story, or has a theme ...

you will learn how to source objects, nibble china, glue, grout, and complete a mosaic mirror frame and/or wooden heart

The course runs over three evenings: 7:00-9:00pm

Portraits

I am teaching a "People and Portraits" course tommorrow centred round image transfers of student's favourite people or portraits. Here are a few of the samples I have worked up to demonstrate different techniques in the workshop.

The Textile Hub

My Textile Collage Course at the Textile Hub is now full but there are plenty of other courses coming up so check out the website HERE.
