Tapestry

This piece was sold at The Festival of Quilts. So sad to post it off this week but will get on with making more. I have just come to the end of teaching a monotype printmaking summer school and can't wait to get into the studio tomorrow to get out my fabrics and start playing around with layering and patching together some more thrifty textiles.

Festival of Quilts

So here are some pictures of my "Thread and Thrift" gallery space at Festival of Quilts which took place in Birmingham last week. Thank you to the thousands of you who came past and said my work was the best in the exhibition (!) and the many of you who bought work, which will help to finance the trip to Alexandra Palace in the Autumn. It was great to meet so many international visitors and make new connexions. If you missed the show come and see me at Knit and Stitch in London or Harrogate.
I am teaching a print summer school this week but next week I need to get back to the studio to make new work.

Two of the  new big quilts  I showed. The lighting made it a bit difficult to photograph.

Birds

Sold quite a few birds yesterday at our open studio event but have been busy at the studio taoday making even more to take to Festival of Quilts next week. These ones are made on to a base of an old velvet and silk log cabin quilt. If you are coming to Birmingham NEC next week do come and see me on stand N12 ( I think) aptly titled Thread and Thrift. Fabric flowers

I have been neglecting my etsy shop of late as I have been so busy finishing off loads of work for my display at Festival of Quilts in August. However some of you will be pleased to know I have just added a couple more of my unique fabric flowers made from old quilts. There are still 2 birds on etsy @ £20 but in August all of my appliquéd birds will be going up to £25 as I realise that  combining the time it takes to make them, the cost of the materials, mounting and packing and the tax man's cut I was rather under charging!
