I am very lucky to be given bits and pieces to use in my work. This applique is on to the base of a beautiful old quilt fragment sent to me from Scotland.

Folk Art Flowers
This is the type of thing I will be teaching in America in September( at French General). Betty really enjoyed the planning meeting the other night as there is nothing a cat likes better than sitting on or getting under a large map. I know it is self indulgent to put pet photos on your blog but in this one she really is pointing to Los Angeles!

Lovely Lace
I have just got back from a mini break in Vienna. I felt a new project coming on when I saw this lace in the Museum of Applied Arts. Watch this space!

March Hare
I actually saw a hare last week in Norfolk so was inspired to make one! All hand stitched and now available on ETSY.

4 and 20 blackbirds
A friend brought this tin full of charming hand embroidered dolls and accessories for me to see. It was given to her children about 35 years ago. When you start to look more carefully it starts to make sense. The detailing is charming....
A king - looks like he is counting his money
The queen is eating honey
Tasty pie - plenty of blackbirds in there!
Love the washing, particularly the crocheted bra
Bit brutal this bit , surely that is not what I think in the beak of the blackbird?
