Lots of you have enjoyed the Eugenie Alexander video I posted on May 22nd. I am now wondering whether this piece of work which my daughter sourced at a London market and gave me for my birthday is by Eugenie. Wish handsome men in suits still helped you try on shoes!

I use little pieces of Turkey Red fabric in my work a lot. Good to see red creeping in to much Swedish folk costume too. These photos taken in the Dalarnas Museum.

A Batsford Book

So I haven't been blogging for a while. In the summer I am so busy with my garden and allotment - watering, planting and thinking of ways to defeat the slugs. I have also been working on an interesting textile project with a refugee group in Newcastle and teaching away from home.  Over the winter I was also busy with a secret project which I am now able to reveal as it has gone to print! Eugenie Alexander

Someone has kindly sent me a link to a  wonderful little pathe film about Eugenie Alexander who created many of the illustrations for my Fabric Pictures Book. An unusually attentive husband! Good to see a woman making her living from fabric collage so long ago.
