Many of you ask me exactly how I make my work and hopefully this article I have written for TextileArtist.Org will give you an insight in to how I work. I write about this particular collage HERE

Peacock
Seems like a long time since I have shown any of my own work but I have been teaching all over the place for the last 4 months and then have been on holiday in Sweden. The folk art there was truly inspirational and I am sure will influence future work when I have time to absorb what I have seen. I have been working on things for an exhibition at Christmas and also just making collages as I love to do. I found this Turkey Red peacock within another quilt, carefully unpicked it from its surface and have now mixed it up with a bit of an old Irish quilt and placed it in a flower bed. The design for the flowers were taken from an image of an American embroidered bed hanging of 1765.

Red
I use little pieces of Turkey Red fabric in my work a lot. Good to see red creeping in to much Swedish folk costume too. These photos taken in the Dalarnas Museum.

Happy Birthday
Happy Official Birthday Liz.
Here is a glove I made several years ago when I was going ( dare I admit it? ) a bit of a monarchy phase! I am running a glove workshop offering similar techniques in the Autumn . Click HERE for details.
