Pot with orange spots

I have finished a piece based on Winifred Nicholson’s Flowers in a Pot with Orange Spots (1950). This was made for a special new friend in the United States. I don't usually let these go!

Pig Stretcher

Details from an old pig stretcher ( don't ask!) that I bought in France. Big decision is whether to risk washing it or accept the ingrained dirt as part of its story. There  are no blood stains you will be please to know.

Bank holiday project

My project this weekend is to unpick the pink floral surface of this quilt to get at what looks like a Victorian patchwork quilt inside. In my book I write about how I always weigh a quilt in my hands when I buy one as heaviness often means something is hidden inside. I have had this one for years and the scuffing on the surface was starting to reveal a blue under layer. Here is the beginning of the process.

Alice Pattullo

Here is a You Tube video about one of my children, Alice Pattullo who is an illustrator based in London. In the film there is even an acknowledgement that her upbringing surrounded by books and quilts might have had a tiny bit of influence on her! So proud.... and if if you haven't been yet the show is on till September 17th at YSP.
