I have had my daughter at home for a few days so have been indulging in a bit of appliqué as we all sit round the kitchen table listening to the new Nick Cave and David Bowie CDs and keep out of the cold. These two are on especially nice bits of old quilt and I am reluctantly selling them on etsy as I need some funds to move into a slightly larger studio. I am sorry about the quality of the photos, my camera is playing up.

Star
I have had a bit of a star thing going on in my latest set of collages. This is my favourite colour scheme. I could work with brown, grey band cream forever.

Precious Memories in Scottish Borders
I have taught memory based workshops many times. It is good to see participants able to incorporate precious bits and pieces or build up a collage around a photograph of someone. For the first time I am taking this workshop across the border into Scotland at the beautiful Burnbrae Workshops near Kelso on 18th and 19th April. The course costs £100 for two days including a lovely lunch. To book please contact Yvette at Burnbrae HERE.
Here are some images to remind you what it is all about.

new textile collage
A bit brighter than I usually work. Incorporating a piece of fine needlepoint and lots of criss cross embroidery. Suffragette colours I think, appropriate for the 100 year anniversary of the death of Emily Wilding Davison who is buried in Morpeth close to where I work.

Crazy Patchwork Appliqued Birds
Last week I officially opened my easy shop and within a couple of days had sold out of the little birds that I appliqué and embroider on to pieces of old crazy patchwork. These past few evening I have been making more so check them out over at my easy shop HERE. Every single one is different.

All Things African
I have just updated my web site with all the print making courses I will be teaching until the end of the summer. Check it out HERE. I am particularly excited about the 4 day Easter school I will be teaching on an African theme. Here are some mixed media responses to tribal textiles that I have worked on myself in sketchbook format. Apologies if you have seen these before. There are still places on the course , which takes place at The Hearth Horsley.

red flowers
The turkey red comes from the back of a quilt I unpicked. Applique is just my favourite thing particularly when I have patchwork underneath.
