Mood Boards

I have have spent January researching, putting together a mood board and collecting fabrics together for a new body of work based on remembered landscapes. Having a mood board up in the studio helps to remind me of colour palettes and general mood of what I am trying to achieve in my own visual language.

Enchanted Forest

I have just finished these two little collages/ stitched drawings which are off to the DLI this week for their display cabinets.

They are part of a series of work which I do called "Enchanted Forest"and which I will be teaching at The Hearth on Sunday March 11th. You will learn to build up a textile collage using hand stitching, applique and embellishment. You don't need to be able to draw a forest bird or animal as I will supply you with templates and lots of lovely fabrics to choose from. Alice Pattullo at Cecil Sharp House

My daughter Alice Pattullo is having her first solo exhibition in London at Cecil Sharp House. It opens Friday January 20th and runs till April so if you are planning a trip to London drop in and see it.

Sorting Out

Christmas television viewing has given me the chance to have a good sort out of my trims. I know they won't stay like this for long!
