Poodle
I realise I am duplicating s bit with using the same photographs on both my Facebook page ( MandyPattulloTextileArtist) and my blog but for those who only read the blog I don't want you to be left out!
Here is a little jacket that I have revitalised this week with a bit of appliqué, stitching and a piece of needlepoint that I made as a child. I love January as I just do what I like. This will hang in my studio. It is not for sale but you are very welcome to come and see it if you are passing The Hearth in Northumberland.

Home Sweet Home
You are going to see a lot of little prairie houses appearing in my work this year. A new obsession based on getting this book at Christmas. I am working on a series of fairly traditional appliqués based on research into folk art and doing them on to old log cabin blocks. My daughter has done some of the initial drawings for me and we are working on an idea of a joint show one day. I am not sure about all the colours within the blocks but am trying to work with them. It was some woman's choice once....

Tidying out the cupboard in my studio ( A true January sort of thing to do) I came across this unfinished quilt/wall hanging thing. I never quite felt satisfied with it but now I see it photographed I am beginning to think I might revisit it. It has a section of an old tweed stable boy quilt within it. These are very hard to get hold of and I have left the original red tufting in place here and there.

Unpicking/Remaking
Nothing delights me more than unpicking an old quilt, even a machine stitched one like this. Just love those puncture holes in the blanket in the top image. The navy blue fabrics have been used for the little pony in the previous post.
