The Wildflower Area

A couple of weeks ago I actually managed to spend a couple of hours drawing in the wild flower garden at The Hearth. It was just going over but hope I managed to capture some of the atmosphere of this slightly over run area which gives a lot of pleasure to our visitors.

Can't wait to have a go at making some dolls like this. These were in the American Museum in Bath.

Turkey Red

I recently visited the wonderful American Museum in Bath I was much taken with the quilt room and particularly the red embroidered quilt in their collection. I came back and drew this fox in red stitching relating it to my local quilt tradition by using a piece of north country turkey red strippy and the flowers were unpicked from a north country eiderdown. Ballet Button

I have thousands of buttons but only one like this featuring a ballerina. I have reluctantly used it in a new little heart shaped collage for ETSY. Quite tempting to cut it off and replace with a less special one!
